On June 30, 2020, the various functional departments and production units of Hunan Haohua Chemical Co., Ltd. jointly conducted an emergency response drill for liquid chlorine cylinder leaks. At 10:00 a.m. that day, as the piercing alarm sounded in the chlorine storage facility, the company‑level emergency plan was immediately activated. To prevent the spread of chlorine gas, the emergency response team, in accordance with the procedures outlined in the chlorine leak response plan, promptly sprayed mist‑like water over the area surrounding the liquid chlorine storage room and then used specialized tools to seal the leaking valve.
During the drill, the emergency response fan and the vacuum‑negative‑pressure system were activated to address a chlorine gas leak. The emergency response teams—responsible for leak containment, environmental monitoring, medical assistance, security and evacuation, rescue and firefighting, and logistical support—all carried out their assigned tasks in accordance with the emergency plan. Personnel at each post fulfilled their respective duties and handled the incident in an orderly and coordinated manner. This emergency drill featured a realistic scenario, a dynamic format, and easily understandable content. Throughout the exercise, the command team maintained clear direction, staff demonstrated proficient technical skills, and the operation proceeded in a tense yet well‑organized fashion, yielding positive results and achieving the intended objectives.
